In this virtual camp, students will explore music theory principles, dabble in a Nashville Numbers workshop, learn songwriting techniques, unpack tips on setting up your space for optimal sound recording, and take in what it looks like to release their music into the world.
Camp costs include a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Studio 3rd Gen Recording Bundle (includes microphone, audio interface, and headphones), a midi keyboard controller, and a microphone stand. These items will be shipped directly to your home.
Mac or Windows PCStable Internet (Broadband)
Each workshop is taught by one of our Visible Music College Professors who is also a full time professional musician. Each class happens live with our staff from all over the USA.
Straight from Sweetwater's factory to your front door, everything (minus a computer) you need to start your own home studio will be mailed directly to you. The cost of this gear alone is more than your camp costs.
Each day, you will spend time in the morning learning some basics in Music Theory. Essentially, this will be a language class as you begin to unlock the formula needed to navigate your music world.
With a total of 15 hours in-class instruction, even beginners will walk away from this week of training and group projects ready to begin recording your own music right from your bedroom or home studio.
Each day, you will spend 1.5 hours learning and operating Ableton Live Lite, the light-weight version of a mainstream software used by award-winning artists in the music industry today.
Throughout the week, you will spend time working together with other virtual music students collaborating on a music project that you will present at the end of the week.
Students, age 13 to adult, looking to gain experience in recording, editing, and producing your own song with professional recording and editing software.
